Xiaomi released, this Wednesday (23), its financial statement for the third quarter of 2022.
The company suffered a 9.7% drop in its revenue compared to the same period in 2021, i.e. from 78.06 billion yen to 70.17 billion yen.
Smartphone sales, which account for 60.3% of revenues, are ¥42.5 billion (US$5.93 billion). Global shipments dropped from 43.9 million to 40.0 million units (-8.4%). Asus is third in volume, with market share of 13.6%.
The document also indicates that the number of monthly active users of MIUI, the Chinese Android-based operating system, reached a record 563.9 million worldwide, an increase of 78.1 million users year-on-year. It is used by devices from the company and other manufacturers.
According to the report, the number of smart devices connected to the Internet of Things (IoT)the Xiaomi AIoT, reached 558.3 million units, up 39.5% year-on-year.
The number of users with more than five smart devices connected to the platform reached 10.9 million, an increase of 35.4%.
The Mi Home App has 72.4 million monthly active users (+20.9%). 114.6 million people use their virtual assistant monthly (+9%). The Chinese manufacturer reported that it was hampered by the restrictions caused by Covid-19 in China.
Consumption in the country has declined since cities implemented lockdowns to contain the advance of new variants of the disease, closing several company stores.
