Since Elon Musk became the owner of Twitter, the social network has not gone a day without being involved in some controversy. After unbanning Donald Trump from the social network, the billionaire now suggests that all suspended accounts be reinstated.

In a publication on Twitter, the businessman questioned users with a poll about the feat. “Should Twitter offer a general amnesty for suspended accounts, as long as they haven’t broken the law or engaged in blatant spam?”

Users have 24 hours to respond to the billionaire’s question. At the time of publication of this article, “Yes” was ahead with about 72.2% of the more than 2.8 million votes.

Musk seems to be enjoying involving users in Twitter’s decisions. In the case of Trump’s return, he also conducted a poll. The poll received more than 15 million votes, and support for the return of the former president of the United States gained from 52% to 48%.

Trump had been banned from Twitter for inciting Capitol invasion movements in January 2021. And it’s important to remember that when he took control of the social network, Elon Musk said he wouldn’t re-establish any profile without the scrutiny of a content moderation council made up of people with “widely diverse points of view”.

However, the promise was not fulfilled and the billionaire associates this with the fact that activists betrayed him first, organizing a possible boycott of Twitter’s advertising revenue.
