In addition to the new cell phones in the Reno 9 family, Oppo has just announced the Enco R Pro, the brand’s new premium headset in in-ear format. More advanced variant of the Enco R launched in May, the accessory is not innovative, but it does ship a list of welcome features, promising good audio quality and powerful noise cancellation accompanied by long autonomy.

With a look reminiscent of the traditional Enco R, the debut model has as its main differential the in-ear capsules with rubber tips, which provide greater isolation, but may not be the preference of some users. The release also features tweaks to sound settings, curiously employing smaller 12.4 mm drivers, but using more premium construction materials, and thus offering fuller sound.

Another change is the presence of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology — OPPO did not reveal the feature’s cancellation capability, but highlights the use of combining two microphones per capsule with special AI algorithms to optimize the function for different scenarios . As usual, there’s an ambient mode, to let in sound, and Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC), which removes background noise on calls.

On the battery, the promised autonomy is up to 7 hours of continuous use, with a total of up to 28 additional hours provided by the case, but without the use of ANC. Duration numbers for times when the feature is on have yet to be released. In addition, the Enco R Pro also supports fast charging, which should provide an additional 2 hours of use with a 10-minute charge.

The connection is made using Bluetooth 5.2, with low latency mode for games, while users of OPPO devices will have access to the company’s quick connection solution, which automatically detects the accessory when the case is opened. The IP54 certification for water and sweat resistance, gesture controls and the dedicated management app close the package.

price and availability

The OPPO Enco R Pro goes on pre-order in China starting today (24), with availability scheduled for December 2 and a suggested price of 499 yuan, or about R$ 370 in direct conversion and without taxes. The company will also provide a discount of 100 yuan (~R$ 75) for consumers who purchase the novelty together with a smartphone from the Reno 9 family.

It is not yet known whether OPPO will take the accessory to other markets.
